Wild Swimming at Taplow Lakeside

Our open water swimming sessions run all year round – Wednesday mornings, Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday mornings during summer and winter.
We offer two safe swim courses:

• The Swim Secure Course (400m) for confident swimmers.

• The 100m Course for beginners or those staying close to shore.

During winter, the 400m course is shortened for safety.

Taplow Lakeside operates under the NOWCA safety system. All swimmers need a NOWCA wristband, though trial swims are available.
Safety rules:

• Wear a brightly coloured swim cap (green caps are for medical professionals).

• Tow floats are mandatory for all swimmers.

• Wetsuits are recommended; if not worn, a waiver must be signed.

Junior Wild Swimming

Children aged 8–11 with open water swimming experience may swim if accompanied in the water by a responsible adult within 2 metres.
Children aged 12–17 may swim if a responsible adult is on site and maintains direct visual contact.
Adult-to-child ratio is 1:1.

Outdoor Activities

Beyond wild swimming, Taplow Lakeside offers:

• Wakeboarding and waterskiing

• Stand-up paddleboarding
